Simple tips to keep your engine running strong on Nigerian roads.
In Nigeria's heat and stop-start Lagos traffic, change your engine oil every 5,000 km or 3 months, whichever comes first. Short trips are harder on oil than highway driving.
Use 5W-20 for newer Toyota, Honda, and Ford engines for better fuel economy. Choose 5W-30 for older or high-mileage vehicles, it provides a thicker protective film in hot conditions.
Change your ATF IV every 40,000 to 60,000 km or if you notice hesitation when changing gears. A well maintained gearbox can last the entire life of your vehicle.
